Watch The Solange-Directed Video For "The Weekend" by SZA

We have been treated by the musical angel that is SZA today.

First there were the rumors that Solange would be directing the video for "The Weekend," then it became truth. A short snippet surfaced on SZA's Instagram page and now we have the final product.

Truth be told, as unique of a song "The Weekend" is, it is probably my least listened to track off of "Ctrl." Lyrically, I do not relate to the song and before you say it's a "female" song, there are many relationship scenarios that cross between gender and sexuality that can be relatable. On top of that, the song's tempo is cannot make me overlook the lyrics but that's SZA music all around.

The video itself has Solange all over it based on her visuals from "A Seat At The Table." Everything from the wide open and minimal spaces, to the earthy color palette with pops of vibrant color to the wide angle shots. It is a video that focuses less on what the song is about and more of showing off SZA's beauty.
