The Social Media Cleanse
Hello Readers and Viewers,
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat rule today's social media world. For many, we check our accounts several times a day and believe it or not, it is very draining. You cannot help but tap one of those apps every time you pick up your phone because it becomes an addiction.
Well, my semester began back in September and I needed to focus after a lackluster semester this past Spring. I impulsively deactivated my Instagram and Facebook before deleting my Twitter and Snapchat(which I rarely used). I am so happy I do not have a brand to promote as it allows me to disconnect when I want.
On a more personal note, a percentage of me deactivating my accounts was fueled by me wanting to be completely out-of-sight. The way my personality works is I like to connect with the world and once my energy has dipped to below my personal 20 percent, I take a step back, recharge and return when I have re-energized.
Also, I do not consider myself to be a hateful or bitter person but I do not constantly want to see someone's highlight reel. It is great that other people are doing wonderful things, and in highlighted form but my life is occurring at its own pace. My focus should not shift from that as I am the only person I should ever be competing with.
For now, I want this blog to be my only connection to the public's eyes. With that being said much has happened and there are a handful of topics I want to share my opinion on. Lookout for new posts to arrive in the upcoming weeks.
